Episode 05
Footballer for a Day

كان الملعب ينتظره

Hussain Al Shamali

At eleven years old, Hussain Al Shamali knows exactly where he belongs: on the pitch, in the kit, playing for Kuwait.

Hussain has Down syndrome, and football is not just a hobby for him — it is a language, a joy, a place where everything else falls away and only the game remains. He watches Kuwait Football Club with devotion and knows what it means to represent your country on the field.

Omnia partnered with Kuwait Football Club to give Hussain a day as a real player — kitted out in the official strip, on the real pitch, alongside the real players who welcomed him as one of their own.

He didn’t just observe. He trained. He ran. He played.

For the players, it was a reminder of why the game matters beyond the scoreboard. For Hussain, it was the confirmation of something he had always felt — that this is where he belongs.
