In a heartfelt celebration of Kuwaiti Women’s Day, Floward and Mubkhar co-hosted a lunch gathering at the local restaurant, Folio, to honour the achievements of outstanding Kuwaiti female artists. Floward and Mubkhar also presented gifts to the attendees, as a token of appreciation for their contributions to Kuwaiti culture.
Beyond celebrating them, the purpose of this gathering is to create a supportive network among Kuwaiti female artists, enabling them to collaborate on future projects, opening doors to new opportunities, and thereby present their work to a broader audience.
This year, Floward and Mubkhar have focused on female artists to emphasize their commitment to acknowledging voices that are often underrepresented. The event highlighted the pivotal role these artists play in enriching Kuwaiti culture and showcased the companies’ dedication to advancing women’s involvement in the artistic and cultural sectors.
During the event, illustrator Amal AlBaqshi, shared her thoughts on the significance of Kuwaiti Women’s Day and its impact on her life, “Of course, ever since the day Kuwaiti women received their political rights, everything has changed for the better and we continue to celebrate women’s achievements not just on this day but every day. I’m thankful for this gathering because it allows us all to network, get to know each other’s achievements, and learn from one another – we’re basically building our own community!”
She also left an inspirational message for all the women of Kuwait urging them to not give up on what they want: “focus on the things you love, whether it’s your hobby, your art, sports, or anything beyond that. Don’t let anyone tell you ‘You can’t’, just keep going.”
