Floward, the go-to online flowers and gifts delivery destination in MENA and UK, is announcing its partnership with Sadeer Farms as part of its corporate responsibility strategy towards becoming a more environmentally friendly company. Under this partnership, Floward will be donating its green waste to Sadeer Farms on a weekly basis, which the farm will in turn compost and transform into fertilizers. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on May 15 in Floward’s offices in Kuwait in the presence of Floward Chairman and CEO, Mr. Abdulaziz Al Loughani, and Sadeer Farms Owner Ms. Dana Al Salem, marking the beginning of what promises to be a fruitful strategic partnership with Sadeer Farms.
On average, Floward’s organic waste in Kuwait amounts to 1 tonne per month. Annually, this will enable Floward to contribute to the production of compost fertilizers that cover approximately 20,000 square meters of land. Such a contribution not only illustrates Floward’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint but also supports local agriculture and promotes sustainable farming practices. By recycling organic materials, this partnership will help reduce dependency on synthetic fertilizers, contributing to a healthier and more sustainable food system. Moreover, the compost produced will aid in carbon sequestration, effectively reducing atmospheric CO2 and combating climate change.
Through this initiative, Floward affirms its commitment to adopting better environmental practices and transitioning into a company that is more sustainable and eco-friendlier. Looking ahead, the company plans to pursue similar partnerships with organizations and farms across its operational countries to strengthen its environmental efforts.
Floward’s Chairman and CEO, Mr. Abdulaziz B. Al Loughani commented: “We’re excited to be launching this initiative with Sadeer Farms, a partner with whom we’ve successfully collaborated with on multiple projects. We are fully aware of the significant impact the floral industry can have on the environment; that’s why we are actively engaging in responsible practices to address this issue. This partnership represents the first of many steps we’re taking to reduce our carbon footprint and enhance sustainability throughout our operations in all countries.”
Sadeer Farms Owner, Ms. Dana Al Salem said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Floward and aligning our efforts towards sustainable agriculture. By transforming Floward’s organic waste into high quality compost, we’re cutting down on waste and boosting healthier farming practices. This partnership underscores our commitment to sustainability, and we anticipate its lasting benefits for our community and environment.”
